Aims and Objectives

The Bishop Canning Music Academy is dedicated to nurturing and celebrating the gift of music in all its diverse forms. Rooted in a legacy of cultural enrichment, the academy aspires to be a sanctuary where children discover, develop, and deepen their musical talents.

Educational Excellence  - Our aim is to provide comprehensive training in music and dance that meets professional standards in the areas of Western and Indian vocals, diverse dance styles, and instrumental training in Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, Wind and Brass Instruments, Electronic Keyboards, Drum Kit, Tabla, Sitar, and Bamboo Flute.

Skill Development - Our programmes are designed to develop technical ability, performance confidence, and musical literacy with the objective to engage students through guided instruction and focused practice, to build a strong foundation in their chosen discipline.

Creative Expression - Our objective is to encourage each student to explore their artistic voice. Music and dance are used as tools for self-expression, imagination, and emotional growth, fostering individuality and creative thinking.

Cultural Appreciation - By blending Indian and Western traditions, we are committed to nurturing respect for cultural diversity and artistic heritage so that students learn to value tradition while embracing new ideas and styles.

Community Engagement - Through performances, recitals, and collaborative events we encourage students to share their talents and connect with the wider community, building teamwork, confidence, and a spirit of service.

Personal and Social Development - Beyond skills, we aim to develop confident, disciplined, and empathetic individuals.   The performing arts help students grow in character, resilience, and social awareness. At the Bishop Canning Music Academy, we believe in shaping not just musicians and dancers, but inspired individuals who carry the joy of music into every aspect of life.
